One versatile piece of kit!

Posted on May 22, 2020May 22, 2020 by ruth coulter

Camping Kitchens come in all shapes & sizes. Portable, bolted inside campervans or designed to pullout the back. At the very start of or camping adventures, we bought a kitchen bag from Outwell in the photo, similar to this one It’s still used on our trips.

There’s 4 pockets along the front & 2 at each side, & 3 large compartments inside with a zip closed top. Like Mary Poppins bag, it holds a lot more than you’d think.

Even if you have a built in kitchen, this will be a good check list for packing:

External pockets

Lighter/matches

Washing up liquid- in a travel bottle

Foldaway shopping bag

Blue cloths- disposable

Antibacterial wipes eg Dettox

Plastic food bags

Black bin bags

Smaller rubbish bags

Clothes peg & line

Travel wash for clothes

1st compartment

Plates

Bowls

Cups-Keep cups/Tin cups/Plastic or disposable cups-whatever works for you

Aero press coffee maker*

Coffee/Teabags

2nd compartment

Collapsible kettle

Pot with fold down handles

Tea towels

Oven mit

Clipits

Small Collapsible containers

Ridgeway grill*

Outwell cutlery sleeve*across top

3rd compartment

MSR/Jetboil– we’ve had both!

Gas propane/butane

Food brush/scourers

Spoontula/Spatula

Kitchen roll

Portable sink & dirty dishes bag- which came with original kitchen bag

Plastic knives n forks

Skewers- not essential- except for roasting marshmallows!

We also bring a cadac 2 ring cooker

Amend this list of essentials as a check list for your next trip!

What else do you bring for your camp kitchen? We’d love to hear!
